Ray's Barn Owl Painting, SAA Paint Magazine, November 2006 The Artist - Ray Hardcastle      I was born in County Durham and I am a self taught artist. After taking part in many successful exhibitions in the North East of England I set up this web site to offer my compositions to a wider audience. Spending most of my childhood and young adult life in and around the countryside, I have developed a genuine passion for wildlife and the natural world, which as you will see is reflected within my work. My preferred medium is acrylic but I have and can also work with most mediums. You can see examples of the wide range of my creations by clicking on the links on the left. Please feel free to go through the various topics and view my original art work. Details on prints and limited edition prints are available upon request. Send me a photograph of your pet and I will produce a large painted copy. Or, if you want a painting of another animal or bird, I can probably provide the portrayal from my extensive library of images. If required, I can supply a photograph for your approval. I also specialise in painting pub and inn signs for the trade or personal display. These can again be from photographs or from my design. Any size will be considered. Then you might want a large painting of your Coat of Arms.
